Kennedy Ochieng hailed from East Kochia, Nyalienga Village. Ken was enrolled into the The Child Behind Project soon after the death of his parents and lived with an old grandmother, that was in the year 2007. Ken was supported through his secondary education at Orero Secondary School from where he scored a mean grade of B+, was admitted at Great Lakes University  where he studied BSc Medicine. He has so far graduated and works at Kisumu Sub County Hospital as a full time Doctor. He is happy and appreciates Caritas Homa Bay, Catholic Relief Services and Donors.

John Omondi suffered Hydrocephalus a condition which called for specialized medical attention. The Child Behind Project supported the family to Kijabe Mission Hospital for specialized treatment and care. He was operated on and the cyst drained through a drainage system in the head. Today John is well the drainage system removed and stable medically. Presently he is enrolled at Nyaburi Integrated Primary School for special children. He picked well despite his age. John’s main interest is in handcraft and outdoor games and this is what the institution nurtures.

Yvone Otieno and Liliane Otieno hail from East Kochia – Nyaliengá village. Both lost their parents who were University Lecturers to a tragic road accident in Nairobi in the year 2005. Then, Lilian (squatting) was 11years old while Yvone (standing) was 10years old. They were left with the grandfather who until today is mentally retarded due to the double loss of Liliane’s parents. They were enrolled into TCB project in the year 2007. They received educational support among other household support. Soon after class eight, they were enrolled to St. Paul’s Ligisa Mixed secondary school where Yvone attained a B+ while Liliane had B. they were together again admitted at Rongo University though with different courses. Yvone takes a course in Human Resource while Liliane Education, English Literature and Religion. They appreciate the project which seen them get to this level of education. Above all pray for employment so that they could take care of their ailing grandfather.
